In Winnipeg, A Skating Rink That Doubles as a Sculpture Park

Welcome, sub-freezing temperatures! Canadians once again prove they know how to not just endure winter, but enjoy it. My latest piece in the New York Times (click HERE2014-02-05 11.30.47 2014-02-05 15.47.19 2014-02-05 19.24.37 DSC08763) covers the Red River Mutual Trail in Winnipeg, a ribbon-like skating trail on the city’s two intersecting rivers and the annual architectural competition to create warming huts along them. The result is a serial sculpture park where you skate between installations.
